A path to healing: In a powerful Instagram post, Cassie, the former girlfriend of music mogul Diddy, has broken her silence following the release of a video from 2016 showing Diddy assaulting her.
Cassie bravely addresses the issue of domestic violence, stating that it has shattered her in ways she never thought possible. However, she also highlights the progress she has made in her healing journey through hard work and determination.
“Thank you for all of the love and support from my family, friends, strangers, and those I have yet to meet. The outpouring of love has created a place for my younger self to settle and feel safe now, but this is only the beginning. Domestic Violence is THE issue. It broke me down to someone never thought I would become. With a lot of hard work, I am better today, but I will always be recovering from my past.” She continued, “Thank you to everyone that has taken the time to take this matter seriously. My only ask is that EVERYONE open your heart to believing victims the first time. It takes a lot of heart to tell the truth out of a situation that vou were powerless in.”
Cassie went on to “offer my hand to those that are still living in fear. Reach out to your people, don’t cut them off. No one should carry this weight alone. This healing journey is never-ending, but this support means everything to me. Thank you. Love Always, Cassie.”

Cassie’s statement comes only days after Diddy himself shared an apology for his actions in the 2016 hotel assault. He said in a video statement:
“I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now,” the music mogul said in a video statement posted Sunday to Instagram and Facebook.

As we previously reported, the security video obtained by CNN showed Diddy Combs, wearing only a white towel, punching and kicking Cassie. The footage also shows him shoving and dragging Cassie, and throwing a vase in her direction.
The clip matched her claims in a lawsuit that she filed against him in November over what she said was years of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse. The suit was settled the next day but spurred intense scrutiny of Combs. However, several more lawsuits have since been filed in the following months, along with a federal criminal sex-trafficking investigation that led authorities to raid Combs’ mansions in Los Angeles and Miami.
Furthermore, Diddy has recently been hit with yet another lawsuit by a former model Crystal McKinney — making her the 6th person to speak out.
