Jeffrey Wright has joined the cast of HBO’s The Last of Us Season 2, and he will take on the role of Isaac. He actually voiced this same character in The Last Us Part II video game.
The character is described as “the quietly powerful leader of a large militia group who sought liberty but instead has become mired in an endless war against a surprisingly resourceful enemy.”
Wright will appear in the series alongside returning series leads Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, Gabriel Luna, and Rutina Wesley.
New cast members for Season 2 include Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen, and Danny Ramirez as Manny. Catherine O’Hara also guest stars in a secret role.
The story takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed by a deadly virus. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone to the Fireflies, a cure-searching organization.
What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse across the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.
