Kathryn Dennis had a full-blown meltdown in the backseat of a police car following her suspected DUI on Monday.
As the mug shot and police report were also released, stating that the 32-year-old former Southern Charm cast member had empty liquor bottles and her dog in the car at the time of her three-car collision in South Carolina, a couple of videos were also shared, in which the moments leading up to Kathryn’s incarceration were seen.
In footage shared by TMZ on May 23, Kathryn attempted to complete a series of field sobriety tests before one of the responding officers put her in handcuffs.
In another clip, also shared by TMZ, Kathryn accused the cops and ex-boyfriend, Thomas Ravenel of ruining her life and the lives of her two children, daughter Kensington, 10, and son Saint Julien, 8, who Thomas , 61, was granted full custody of in 2023.
“I was in a horrible car accident and now I’m being arrested? What? This is crazy!” said Kathryn, as she went on to blame Thomas for ruining her life. “You know what? Thomas, thank you. I’m so thankful you’re my baby daddy, ’cause you’ve ruined my life. Thanks.”
“Y’all are ruining my life — and my kids’ — thanks for nothing because you didn’t even do a field sobriety test to know if you’re legit or not. No, you sure didn’t. You didn’t do a blood alcohol test. Maybe I don’t have the best balance in the whole wild world but you know, you sure didn’t confirm what you were doing,” Kathryn alleged.
“I’m not stupid,” she continued, “I already know what’s happening. My ex is a felon. Like, I know how this works. This is some bullsh*t, though. It’s really messed up for you guys to take people in, though, whenever they have kids because it could really affect their children’s lives. Not my life. I don’t give a f*ck about me. It’s my kids. I don’t deserve to be here. At all.”
When one of the policemen then reached over her to unbuckle her seatbelt, Kathryn accused the man of “treating me like I’m an animal” before starting to scream at him.
“Get out of my face. Why are you so close to me? Why are you so close to me? You’re disgusting! You’re gross! Don’t touch me like that!” she stated.
She then went into even more of a meltdown as she yelled for her pet.
“I want my dog! I want my puppy! Please let me have my puppy!” she cried. “He can’t go to the animal shelter! I will sue the sh*t out of you! I want my dog, he means everything to me! This is bullsh*t! I just want my dog to be okay. Please just let my puppy be okay. Please! That’s my baby.”
As the video continued, Kathryn issued a threat to the officer.
“I want you to give me my rights, my f*cking rights. And I want you to take me back to the jail, whatever you want to do to me, and let me stay in my little cell, all night, til 9 a.m. when I can get my dog and leave and then sue the sh*t out of you,” she demanded. “That’s what I want, and I’m not getting out the car otherwise. If you want to do something to me, go ahead.”
“You already touched me inappropriately. F*cking disgusting man,“ she added.

Along with the video footage of her arrest, Kathryn’s mug shot was also released.
As for the police report, that confirmed Kathryn refused a breathalyzer test and performed poorly during her field sobriety tests.
“I conducted a search of her brown dog bag and located several mini bottles of Fireball, some of which were open and empty,” read a police report obtained by Radar Online on May 22, noting that Kathryn was holding her dog as EMS checked her for injuries after the crash.
“While standing near Ms Dennis, I could smell an odor consistent with the odor of alcoholic beverages emanating from her,” the report went on.
According to one of the drivers on the scene, Kathryn’s vehicle hit theirs from behind at a red light, causing them to hit the person positioned in front of them.
“All he could remember was that he got hit in the rear and his head [bounced] off the steering wheel,” the report said of one of the drivers.
Only one person involved wanted to press charges.
Explaining her night to the responding police officers, Kathryn said that after heading out to meet friends and tape a podcast, her plans fell through and she ended up visiting a friend at their apartment.
When asked if she had taken any prescription medicine, Kathryn admitted she “took several medications but had not taken any tonight.” As for her alcohol use, Kathryn first denied she had drunk at all before changing her story and sharing that she had consumed alcohol much earlier in the day.
During a series of field sobriety tests, including the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test (HGN), the responding offers observed “four clues out of six,” including witnessing Kathryn using her arm to balance amid a “walk and turn” test and doing the same when asked to stand on one leg.
“I observed Ms. Dennis use her arm for balance and misses heel to toe on numerous occasions,” the report stated.
“Upon completion of the tests, Ms. Dennis asked where her dog was, and I reminded her that she had placed her dog in the back seat of my patrol vehicle,” said the report. “Based on my observations, I determined that probable cause existed for the charge of Driving Under the Influence.”
Days after the DUI arrest, an insider told Radar Online that Kathryn’s friends were “surprised” and “concerned” about the former reality star and “not happy” about what happened.
Kathryn is due to appear in court on June 4.
Southern Charm season 10 is currently in production and expected to begin airing on Bravo later this year or early next year.
