Kristen Doute shared texts from Jo Wenberg following her recent claim that she first suggested that Jo stay with Tom Schwartz when she didn’t have an apartment. Jo said she couldn’t stay with Kristen then because Kristen had Covid, and was also going to a wedding.
Jo ended up staying with Tom for a while, angering many Vanderpump Rules castmates – given that it happened so soon after Schwartz’s split with ex-wife Katie Maloney. Meanwhile, Schwartz just shared that Kristen texted “awful things” to Jo, which is why their friendship ended.
“[Jo’s] now saying that I am the one who told her she should go stay with Schwartz cause I had Covid simultaneously while going to a wedding,” said Kristen on her “Balancing Act” podcast, via @Breakingtherulespod on Instagram. “What in the bananas of all hell is she f**king talking about?”
Kristen then shared her text to Jo on June 29, 2022.
“I text girl Jo: ‘Did you end up having Covid? You never told me,’” said Kristen. “She said, ‘Yes we had Covid, hence the quarantining.’ I was like, ‘Well I wish you had told me. I wouldn’t have flown.’”
She said they were still in communication on July 7, but Jo stopped talking to her around June 15.
“I [wrote] multiple texts … like, ‘Hey are you okay? I barely talk to you in over a week. I’m worried about you,’” said Kristen. “Cut to July 20 … I said, ‘Wait, wait, you live with Tom? I’m so confused lol … call me.’”
Kristen claimed she wrote the text because Katie had just called her saying she filmed at Schwartz’s apartment and “found girl things in the bathroom.”
“[Jo] said, ‘No I don’t live with Tom. I’m staying there on and off until Friday for a space until my apartment is ready,’” added Kristen, who then allegedly asked Jo why she didn’t tell her.
“But now the b**ch is gonna say that I told her to go live with Schwartz,” said Kristen.
On Vanderpump Rules After Show, Schwartz’s ex-wife Katie slammed “the way [Jo] treated Kristen, who was the one that vouched for her so hardcore [and] was like her best friend.”
Katie then claimed Jo “cut” Kristen “off” with “zero explanation” after she asked Jo about her living situation with Schwartz.
“I think that is very odd,” said Katie. “That is very strange behavior to me.”
But according to Schwartz on the same show, Kristen “said some really awful things” to Jo, that were “beyond repair.” Tom Sandoval shared that he saw the texts, which were “bad.”
