Rapper Nicki Minaj has been released by police in Amsterdam after being detained for alleged drug possession. Minaj had earlier documented an intense exchange with authorities, who directly told her she was getting arrested after weed was found in her possession.
However, Minaj claimed that the weed “pre-rolls” did not belong to her and instead belonged to members of her team. The rapper’s shocking arrest led to calls for her freedom on social media, with her fan base, the Barbz, causing #FreeNicki to trend and even protesting outside the police station where she was detained.

Nicki Minaj Has Been Released Following Arrest In Amsterdam

According to reports, the rapper was set free by the police after she was taken in for alleged possession of soft drugs.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the Netherlands police noted that she had been fined and given the chance to “continue her journey.”
Minaj was on her way to Manchester for her “Pink Friday 2 World Tour” when she got arrested by police while coming from Amsterdam.
Taking to Instagram Live and multiple posts on X, Minaj revealed that authorities in Amsterdam tried to detain her for alleged drug possession.
In the live video, an official is heard stating their intent to arrest the “Pink Friday” hitmaker for purportedly “carrying drugs,” which she vehemently denied.

The rapper shared via X on Saturday, “Now they said they found weed and that another group of people have to come here to weigh the pre-rolls.”
She continued: “Keep in mind they took my bags without consent. My security has already told them those pre-rolls belong to him. Oh, and the pilot wants me to take my Instagram post down.”
After some back and forth with the police, Minaj was eventually seen entering a police car, putting a halt to her trip to Manchester for her sold out concert.
