Sha’Carri Richardson won her first race of the season on May 25 at the Prefontaine Classic and social media is showering her with love.
ABC News reports the win brings the runner one step closer to the Paris Olympics.

Sha’Carri Richardson Wins Big
Sha’Carri was victorious in the women’s 100-meter dash. She completed the stretch in 10.83 seconds. Richardson will now qualify to compete for a spot on the U.S. team for the Olympic trials, which will be held in Euguene, Oregon next month.
She currently holds the 2023 women’s 100m world champion title.
The 24-year-old said she’s “…continuing to grow and develop into a mature young lady, a mature athlete, as well as vessel that I am put on earth to continue to grow.”
As previously reported by The Shade Room, the sprinter was banned from competing in the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020 after she failed a marijuana drug test. Sha’Carri stated that she smoked weed after she was informed of her biological mom’s passing by a stranger. She was in Oregon at the time, where the substance is legal.
Following the scandal, she lost her first competition at the 2021 Prefontaine. Furthermore, she did not qualify for the world championship in 2022. However, baby girl found her stride and made a commendable comeback. She won the Diamond League race in Doha in 2023. Additionally, she went home with gold medals after the worlds in Budapest.
