Attendees of the 2024 Movement Electronic Music Festival at Detroit’s Hart Plaza have evacuated the grounds due to severe weather.
Movement’s organizers issued an alert via social media at 6:43pm on Sunday, the festival’s second day.
“Attention: Severe weather is heading to Hart Plaza,” the alert reads. “All attendees must evacuate immediately. Please head to the nearest exit point.”
Ticket-holders swiftly evacuated Hart Plaza as a storm rolled in, an onsite EDM.com staff member covering Movement confirmed. Rain and thunder are currently battering the festival’s grounds as well as 17 mile-per-hour wind gusts, per AccuWeather.
Organizers said they are actively monitoring the weather and will provide updates promptly. Tonight’s scheduled headliners were Richie Hawtin, James Blake and a hotly anticipated collaborative DJ set between Idris Elba and legendary Detroit techno producer Kevin Saunderson, among others.
