Liam Neeson is set to star in a cross-country car chase action thriller titled Mongoose, which was acquired by Amazon Prime Video.
Neeson will play Ryan “Fang” Flanagan in the film, “a war hero who, accused of a crime he didn’t commit and with nothing to lose, leads police on an epic televised cross-country car chase.”
Along the way, he is “helped by members of his former Special Forces Army battalion and closely monitored by a fascinated public rooting for his safe getaway.”
The film project reunites Neeson with producers Code Entertainment who were behind both of his Ice Road movies. The movie is directed by veteran stunt professional Mark Vanselow (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull).
The script comes from Thompson Evans (Reckoning) and production is set to start in January 2025 in Australia.
Producers Al Corley and Bart Rosenblatt said in a statement: “We are so very fortunate to be able to make another picture with the extraordinary Liam Neeson and the enormously talented Mark Vanselow. We look forward to another creative journey with our partners and friends.”
Neeson sure does enjoy making his action movies! It’s kinda crazy that this is where his acting career ended up, but he’s obviously having a good time making fun movies!
