Lin Gengxin is one of the most popular actors in China. He has ranked amongst the top 100 celebrities in China for several years in a row. After his debut in 2009 in the film The Blue Cornflower, Gengxin acted in a number of critically acclaimed C-dramas including To Love, Princess Agents, Legend of Southwest Dance and Music etc.
1. To Love
In this 2020 thriller C-drama Lin Gengxin plays the role of Yan Jin, a prominent businessman and a former policeman. He decides to go undercover and investigate a close friend’s death that was caused by drug-trafficking. The investigation brings him close with Ji Xiao Ou (Cass Gai) which bothers Zhan Yu, who likes her. In a dramatic turn of events Zhan Yu is murdered and the blame falls on Yan Jin. He forms an allegiance with Xiao Ou and investigate his friend’s murder mystery and try to clear his name.

2. Princess Agents
In this 2017 C-drama Lin Gengxin plays the role of Yu Wen Yue. He trains Chu Qiao (Zhao Liying), a former slave girl who is on the run with her younger sibling. His ideals influence her greatly in her difficult times. The drama is an adaptation of the novel “The Legend of Chu Qiao: Division 11’s Princess Agent” by Xiao Xiang Dong Er.

3.Legend of Southwest Dance and Music
This drama is a Wuxia travelogue that tells the story of a renowned prince who took his dance troop to visit Tang. The prince was named Shwenandaw who played a crucial role in spreading Buddhism in China through scriptures and teachings. Lin Gengxin plays the role of Shu Nan Tuo in this drama.
4. Master of My Own
In this 2022 C-drama is an adaptation of the novel “Please Call Me the Director” by Hong Jiu. Lin Gengxin plays the role of Lu Ji Ming, an investment banker. He meets Ning Meng (Tan Song Yun), who has always dreamed about becoming a successful banker. She works under him but Lu Ji Ming doesn’t believe that she can succeed in the field. But as time passes the two learn to rely on each other and flourish.

5. My Bargain Queen
In this 2021 Lin Gengxin plays the role of Sheng Zhe Ning, who mistakes Xia Qian (Wu Jin Yan) suspects her for a murder that took place at the hotel he works at. In a dramatic turn of events , they meet years later as Xia Qian’s ex- fiance and Shen Zhe Ning’s sister are getting married.
