The question of who will direct Spider-Man 4 still hasn’t been answered as Sony hasn’t officially named a replacement for Jon Watts. However, rumors suggest the two directors who helmed Bad Boys Ride or Die and its predecessor are in the running for the job. Furthermore, co-director Bilall Fallah also directly responded to a question about directing Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4.

Bilall Fallah responds to rumors that he’s Spider-Man 4’s director

Directing duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are close to Sony having directed the last two Bad Boys movies. They also achieved critical acclaim for helming the MCU’s Ms. Marvel series. Following the rumors of the two taking over as Spider-Man 4’s directors, Fallah was asked about the possibility by a fan site.

In the above post, Fallah simply smiled and covered the camera as his response to directing Spider-Man 4. His reaction could lead many fans to believe that he and Adil El Arbi are in talks with Sony and Marvel to direct Spider-Man 4. But it could also mean Fallah was just having fun with the cameraperson.

The two directors have extensive experience with handling big-budget projects. Besides the aforementioned connection they share with both Sony and Marvel, they also worked on Warner Bros. Discovery’s canceled Batgirl movie.

Following, its cancelation, Kevin Feige even reached out to them sharing his support and Marvel’s backing. So, the two could be candidates to direct Spider-Man 4. But nothing is confirmed at the time of writing.

In a past interview, Tom Holland confirmed that development on Spider-Man 4 is moving ahead but mentioned that it’s in its very early stages. The release date and plot of the film are far from being revealed. It will be a while before fans find out when the release date will be as Marvel’s schedule is packed throughout 2025. So, Spider-Man 4 will likely be slotted sometime in 2026 at the earliest.
