Lil Zay Osama has officially pleaded guilty to a serious gun charge in a Brooklyn, NY courtroom, and is now facing serious federal time.

Per the New York Daily News, the Chicago rapper (real name Isaiah Dukes) entered his plea on Thursday (May 30) in the Brooklyn federal courthouse.

“I knowingly possessed a firearm that was a machine gun in Queens County on Sept. 29, 2022,” he said. “I know that it was wrong and against the law.”

Lil Zay Osama was in possession of a modified machine gun — a .40 caliber Glock pistol with a switch that turned it into a fully automatic weapon — which he left in the back of a rideshare in September 2022.

He faces up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced next month.

According to arrest records obtained by HipHopDX, the “Fuck My Cousin” rapper was charged with possession of a loaded machine gun back in December 2023, theft of stolen goods exceeding $10,000 but not more than $100,000, and possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number.

All three charges are felonies.

Fox 32 Chicago reported that the alleged incident happened on December 13. According to the outlet, Lil Zay Osama was with two friends — Jeremiah Dawson, 21, and Travon Garland, 19 — in the Chicago suburb of Oak Brook when they were spotted by the police.

Police received information about “a vehicle connected to a man who is suspected to be part of an investigation into an armed robbery at a jewelry store in New York.”

It is not clear which of the three men is under suspicion for the alleged crime in New York. Lil Zay Osama 2022 NYC arrest was also prompted by suspicious activity involving a vehicle.

The police began to give chase to the Chicago rapper and his two friends when the car made a series of illegal maneuvers. At one point, a police helicopter was even deployed to try to track down the car.

“Police found a loaded Glock 29 with a laser, an extended magazine and a switch that converts the weapon into a fully automatic machine gun and a loaded Glock 19 with a fifty-round drum magazine and a defaced serial number inside the Dodge,” reports Fox 32.

Lil Zay Osama was also reportedly wearing a $90,000 necklace connected to the New York jewelry store robbery, though it is not clear if he was in fact involved in the robbery, or if he merely benefited from it.
