He was on trial for allegedly falsifying business records regarding a payment made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election to keep her quiet about their alleged affair.

“If they can do this to me, they can do this to anyone,” Trump said during a press conference at Trump Tower on Friday. “These are bad people. These are, in many cases, I believe, sick people.

According to CNN, Judge Juan Merchan could sentence Trump to probation or up to 4 years in state prison on each count, with a maximum of 20 years.

“I’m OK with it,” Trump told Fox News, as transcribed by CNN, when asked about the possibility of jail time. “I saw one of my lawyers the other day on television saying, ‘Oh no, you don’t want to do that to the president.’ I said: You don’t beg for anything.”

The 77-year-old added, “I don’t think the public would stand it. I’m not sure the public would stand for it.”

“I think it would be tough for the public to take, you know, at a certain point, there’s a breaking point,” he said.

“I’m fighting for the Constitution,” Trump told the outlet, per CNN. “These people are so evil, and at the same time the country can come together.”

“It’s dangerous, it’s irresponsible for anyone to say this was rigged just because they don’t like the verdict,” Biden said.

The President of the United States was responding to the comments made by Trump on Thursday.

“This was done by the Biden administration in order to wound, to hurt an opponent. A political opponent and I think it’s just a disgrace, and we’ll keep fighting, we’ll fight till the end, and we’ll win because our country has gone to hell. We don’t have the same country anymore, we have a divided mess,” the former President said.

“Obviously [it’s] just a sad day for America. Crazy what’s going on in this country. Obviously [no one was] probably expecting anything different with this jury, with this biased judge, whose daughter is profiteering from this stuff,” he said in an Instagram video.

“The Democrats have succeeded in their years-long quest to turn our country into an absolute crap hole,” he later added. “They’ve done that. They’ve been trying for a long time. There’s literally no other way about it at this point.”

“We are getting exactly what these people have voted for, and it’s not going to work out well,” Trump Jr. continued. “If you think they can do it to Trump, they can do it to anyone, okay?”
