Alec Baldwin Teases Upcoming Reality Series Ahead Of ‘Rust’ Trial

Actor Alec Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, are going to be starring in their own reality series along with their seven children.

Although the reality series is not expected to debut on TLC until 2025, many are wondering if the show will come to be if Alec Baldwin is behind bars.

The actor has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with the October 2021 shooting of “Rust” cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

Alec Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, have never been shy about sharing the challenges of raising seven children on Instagram. The couple has navigated birthday parties, family vacations, and back to school photos.

On Tuesday, June 4, the couple revealed that they would be starring in their own reality series, “The Baldwins,” set to debut on TLC in 2025.

In an Instagram teaser clip announcing the show, Alec, 66, and Hilaria, 40, begin with a pregnancy joke. “We have an announcement to make,” she says before quickly being cut off by a sound effect.

“Good God, no,” an alarmed Alec responds before Hilaria quickly assures him, “No, definitely not. We’re done having kids.”

The teaser then changes to a chaotic scene of their seven children running around the household before posing for a family photo.

Alec and Hilaria Baldwin share seven children together: Ilaria Catalina Irena, 19 months, María Lucía Victoria, 3, Eduardo “Edu” Pao Lucas, 3, Romeo Alejandro David, 5, Leonardo Ángel Charles, 7, Rafael Thomas, 8, and Carmen Gabriela, 10. The “30 Rock” alum also shares a daughter, Ireland, 28, with ex-wife Kim Basinger.

“We’re inviting you into our home to experience the ups and downs, the good, the bad, the wild and the crazy,” the actor says in the brief clip. “Home is the place we love to be most.”

The teaser concludes with a shot of the family sitting on the sofa and shouting, “We are the Baldwins!”

“And we’re coming to TLC,” Alec added, joking, “God help you all!”

In November 2023, People magazine was one of the first to report that Alec and Hilaria were “pitching a family reality show that would give an inside look at their life.”

An insider told the publication at the time that the couple were “excited but would only do it if it was an authentic portrayal of who they are as a family,” adding, “The kids all have such fun personalities, and Hilaria and Alec know how much interest there is in their lives.”

The insider went on to say that the couple was eager to give viewers “a behind-the-scenes look at raising a big family.”

Fans have some doubts about the reality show actually coming to fruition, as it is possible that Alec Baldwin could face 18 months behind bars in connection with the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

The actor had been rehearsing a scene inside of a church when the gun went off, killing Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza. Armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was accused of putting live ammunition inside the gun. Earlier this year, a jury deliberated for only three hours before they found her guilty of involuntary manslaughter. She was sentenced to the state maximum of 18 months behind bars.

In January 2024, a source close to the family told People magazine that the couple found the situation “frustrating” and “very stressful.”

“It’s stressful for Hilaria. It’s frustrating for them both that Alec is being recharged. They knew there was a possibility there would be a new indictment,” the source said at the time. “The back and forth is hard.”

Baldwin had originally been charged in January 2023 but they were dropped a few months later pending further investigation into the firearm. Despite Baldwin’s insistence that he never pulled the trigger, an FBI report concluded that the trigger had to be pulled in order for the weapon to fire. Charges were refiled in January 2024.

His criminal trial is scheduled to begin on July 9 and last approximately two weeks.
