Jax Taylor’s new LA sports bar is getting slammed with negative reviews, as patrons blast its “barely edible” food, bad ambiance, and “rude” waitstaff.
Jax Taylor may want to get out of the kitchen if he can’t take the heat that is coming for his new Los Angeles-based sports bar, Jax’s Studio City.
DailyMail.com reports that the sports bar, located on Ventura Boulevard and opened in October 2023, has received a flood of negative reviews on Yelp.
Patrons have blasted the establishment’s “barely edible” food and “terrible service.”
The Vanderpump Rules OG owns the bar alongside his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, and a handful of investors, who are footing the bill.
While Jax Taylor’s bar still boasts a four-out-of-five-star Yelp rating, the latest reviews suggest that it isn’t living up to the standards of locals and Bravo fans.
There are complaints about “rude” waitstaff, “long waits” for food and drinks, and lack of ambiance. One Yelp reviewer described the sports bar as a “doom and gloom dungeon.”
“Terrible service. waited over 2 hours for food. never got it but all the sections did. didn’t even receive an apology for the terrible service,” one customer wrote.
A second wrote: “Absolutely everything sucked from food to staff to space to owner. I will never be returning.”
A third patron claimed that the waitstaff was “inattentive and forgetful” while another said the bartenders “never acknowledged” them.
The menu for Jax’s Studio City, which features dishes and cocktails inspired by Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright‘s time on Vanderpump Rules, also failed to live up to the hype.
One review stated that “the food was barely edible besides the pretzel” before warning others to “stay away from the sliders, the beer cheese, or the nacho cheese.”
“I have tried to go here 4 times, but they are never open. Or it will say they open at 8 pm and when we show up for a drink, they are closed. It’s strange,” another reviewer claimed.
According to its website, Jax’s Studio City is open Monday through Friday at 5 PM and at 12 PM on weekends. No closing time is listed on the website, but bars in Los Angeles cannot legally sell alcohol after 2 AM.
The Valley will return to Bravo for season 2 in 2025.
