It looks like the animated series Gravity Falls might be revived at Disney eight years after the show came to an end.
The return of Gravity Falls was teased by Disney TV boss Meredith Roberts, who told The Direct: “We’re in conversations with Alex [Hirsch, creator and voice actor].”
He continued: “He’s about to publish a book with Disney on his project. And we also do some shorts. So never say never.”
Gravity Falls was a fun show, but it only ran of two seasons. The series is a mystery supernatural comedy that follows the adventures of twin siblings Dipper (Jason Ritter) and Mabel Pines (Kristen Schaal), who are sent to spend the summer with their great-uncle Stan in the enigmatic town of Gravity Falls, Oregon.
Stan runs a tourist trap called the Mystery Shack, which is filled with oddities and curiosities. As the twins explore the town, they uncover secrets, encounter supernatural creatures, and decode cryptic messages.
The show’s voice cast also included Linda Cardellini and JK Simmons.
There were a number of Gravity Falls shorts that were released along with books and graphic novels that continued the story.
It would be great to see this series revived to continue the supernatural adventure stories!
