Rachel Lindsay is reflecting on her decision not to have a prenup with her estranged husband, Bryan Abasolo, before they tied the knot.

Rachel Lindsay Reflects On Her Missed Prenup With Bryan Absolo
According to US Weekly, Lindsay opened up about the matter while appearing on a recent episode of the ‘Hidden Gems With Natasha Parker‘ podcast. The former ‘Bachelorette’ explained that she initially wanted a prenup with Abasolo ahead of their union. However, it didn’t happen.
“The reason I didn’t [get a prenup] is because the place I’m in now financially… is totally different than when I got married. We were more level, and I wasn’t living in California,” she explained.
Lindsay explained that she and Abasolo weren’t on the “same page with prenups.”
“We weren’t on the same page with prenups, and I didn’t want it to be a bigger issue,” she said. “So we didn’t have one. Hindsight is 20/20, I would have done it 1717883860.”
Today, the former ‘Bachelorette’ is advising “everybody” to have a prenup in place before tying the knot.
“Everybody should have a prenup,” she stated. “I could have never predicted that in 2024 that I would be getting a divorce. You just never know what life is gonna throw at you or what’s going to happen.”
The Former ‘Bachelorette’ Star Looks Back On Her & Bryan Abasolo’s Relationship
According to the outlet, Lindsay also reflected on the success of her and Abasolo’s relationship despite their pending divorce.
“I came off ‘The Bachelorette,’ I had a successful relationship. Everybody loved that it was successful, and now it’s not,” she said. “It doesn’t mean that it wasn’t at times, it just didn’t end that way — it didn’t have a happy ending. So I think people will look at me in a different way because it didn’t work.”
The reality star and lawyer explained that despite public perception, she’s “doing what’s best” for herself.
“I’m doing what’s best for me, and with divorce even if it’s mutual there’s a bit of a selfish decision in it but I’m doing what’s best for me and that’s a happy ending,” she continued. “Right now as I’m going through it. No, it’s not happy, it’s messy — unnecessarily messy — but when I get through it, I’m gonna have to rebuild, I’m gonna have to restructure, but it’s a happy ending because it’s what I want.”
A Brief Recap Of Rachel Lindsay & Bryan Absolo’s Divorce Thus Far
As The Shade Room previously reported, Lindsay and Abasolo met on season 13 of ‘The Bachelorette.’ They tied the knot in 2019. However, in January 2024, Abasolo filed for divorce after four years of marriage.
At the time, Abasolo — a chiropractor — also requested spousal support from Lindsay, a lawyer.
A few days later, Lindsay thanked fans for their support while explaining that she was having a “difficult time,” per The Shade Room. Then, in May, Abasolo requested emergency spousal support from Lindsay while asking her to pay over $75,000 of his legal fees in their divorce.
At the time, the chiropractor alleged Lindsay was using their joint funds to pay her divorce fees. However, she wouldn’t allow him to do the same.
Furthermore, Abasolo alleged that Lindsay’s income greatly outweighs his, and he would like to use her spousal support to move out of their shared Los Angeles home, per The Shade Room.
In late May, Lindsay responded to Abasolo’s request for her to pay his divorce fees.
