If you’re looking for a refresher for Star Wars: The Acolyte episode 2 we’ve got a synopsis for you. After the series premiere establishes the core premise, episode 2 expands on it. The Acolyte takes place a hundred years before the rise of the Galactic Empire and follows Jedi Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae), as he investigates the deaths of several fellow members of the Order. Initially, the main suspect is Osha (Amandla Stenberg), Sol’s former Padawan. However, Sol and the rest of the Order later learn that Osha’s identical twin sister Mae, who they believed was dead, is responsible for the death of Jedi Master Indara (Carrie-Anne Moss).

In episode 2, Mae targets another Jedi. Sol and Osha race against time to get to Mae before she commits more murders. Osha makes a decision that she will probably regret later.

Here’s our Star Wars: The Acolyte Episode 2 synopsis:

Titled Revenge / Justice, episode 2 predominantly takes place on the Planet Olega. Mae infiltrates the local Jedi temple to kill Master Torbin, the second person on her list after Indara. Torbin has taken the Barash Vow and has spent over a decade meditating and not speaking to anyone. However, Mae fails to penetrate Torbin’s Force barrier and is forced to escape. Realizing that outright violence will not work this time, she asks her accomplice, Qimir (Manny Jacinto), to prepare a concoction using a poison named bunta from her and Osha’s home world. Later, she convinces a guilt-ridden Torbin to take it.

Eventually, Sol and Jedi Knight Yord Fandar confront Mae. It is revealed that the latter didn’t know her sister was alive. She manages to escape by creating a cloud of dust using the Force. The twins come face to face soon after, and Osha lets her sister escape.

After Sol and his companions’ failure to apprehend Mae, the Jedi Order calls them back to Coruscant for further discussion of the matter, much to Sol’s dismay. The episode ends by introducing Kelnacca, a Wookiee Jedi who now lives like a hermit on the Planet Khofar. He is the third target on Mae’s list.

In the second episode, the identity of Mae’s mysterious lightsaber-wielding master remains a mystery. What we can glean from the conversation between her and Qimir is that this Force user has instructed Mae to kill a Jedi without using a weapon. This is effectively confirmed when she tries Sol without her daggers. Additionally, Sol is the fourth and final person on her list. Indara, Torbin, Kelnacca, and Sol were posted on Mae and Osha’s planet when the tragedy that killed the twins’ family happened. Evidently, Mae blames the Jedi for at least some of what transpired that day.
