This is Tour Diary, where artists give us a behind-the-scenes look at life on the road. For the past several months, Hotline TNT have been bringing their ultra-distorted shoegaze to crowded venues with friends like Wednesday, They Hate Change, Matrix, and more. Having just capped off the run with an appearance at NYC’s Governors Ball this past weekend, the band gave us an intimate look at their time away from home.

This is an exercise we do on nights that we are lucky enough to all sleep in one hotel room together. I don’t know what it’s called, but it was passed down from our great-grandparents’ generation and is a form of meditation and silent reflection. / Haylen Trammel

Some people just weren’t cut out for the open road. Life in the city is magical in its own way, surrounded by a thousand rusted memories, but entering the Great Wide Open is an experience that separates the hatchlings from the alligators. / Haylen Trammel

This picture was taken in a very remote section of Montana — but then again isn’t it all remote? Haylen is pointing at a gentrified cup of coffee across the street, which would soon make its way into most of our bellies, keeping us warm as we marched on to the western half of the country. / Haylen Trammel
