Why Harry And Meghan’s Inner Circle Is Allegedly Getting ‘Smaller’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly losing friends in Hollywood following their high-profile breakout from the British monarchy.

The Late Princess Diana’s butler, Paul Burrell, shared that the couple is losing their Hollywood pals and their circle has gotten “smaller and smaller” four years after relocating to the US.

It comes amid reports that Prince Harry is missing his old life and friends and is now looking for a place to call home in the UK ahead of a potential return to the country.

Harry and Meghan’s departure from the British royal family has seemingly come with a surprising social cost, as their Hollywood connections are now reportedly reducing at an alarming rate.

Burrell, who served as butler to the late Princess Diana, claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are finding themselves increasingly isolated from the A-list acquaintances they once called friends.

During a chat with Closer! Burrell said, “Harry and Meghan’s circle is getting smaller and smaller. I think the A-list stars are dropping like flies.”

He went on, “Some already have done – Oprah no longer seems involved with them and some other celebrities have also dropped them.”

In his remark, Burrell claimed that Hollywood is bored with the couple and is now seeking the “main event.”

Although he admitted that Harry and Meghan were once the “most popular couple” in America, they’ve not managed to maintain that feat and have now suffered being snubbed by a couple of A-listers.

“Back in the day, the A-listers were riding on the moment – Harry and Meghan were the most popular couple in the country at one time when they got married, but there’s since been a decline,” the former royal staff said.

He went further to say that Americans “love the royal family” and are realizing that Harry and Meghan are a “sideshow” and not the “main event.”

According to The Sun, several of their Hollywood pals have “turned down recent invites” from them, including Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, who reportedly snubbed an invitation to Archie’s fifth birthday party.

Other pals who are also distancing themselves from the couple include George and Amal Clooney, who denied them an invitation to their Albie Awards in October.

Reports recently surfaced suggesting Harry is missing his old life and friends and would like to relocate to the UK four years after moving his family abroad.

According to the New York Post, former royal butler Grant Harrold disclosed that the pair are seeking to split their time between the US and the UK, indicating their desire to reunite with his estranged family.

“If Harry does buy a place in the UK, he and Meghan will live here for part of the year and part of the year in the States, that was the original idea,” Harrold told the news outlet.

He went further to say that he’d “assume that this would mean Meghan would also be coming to the UK and you’d see them spending so many months of the year here,” adding that he doesn’t expect to see Meghan “wanting to be in the UK permanently.”

According to The Mirror, Harry is reportedly making efforts to secure a permanent UK home as his friends refuse to visit him in the US due to their strained relationships with Meghan.

Following their eviction from Frogmore Cottage in 2023, Harry has been forced to check into hotels every time he touches UK soil, and royal author Tom Quinn shares that the situation has left him “sad.”

Harry is also reportedly upset that his father, King Charles, wants his younger brother, Prince Andrew, to move into Frogmore Cottage.

“As time goes by, Harry misses some aspects of his old life in the UK,” Quinn stated. “Inevitably, the honeymoon period where everything in the States is new and exciting is coming to an end, and Harry is looking back at the past through rose-tinted spectacles.”

Quinn further claimed that the father-of-two misses his schoolmates and army friends, “many of whom have not visited as they don’t get on with Meghan.”

“Harry is determined to find his own permanent home in the UK, which is partly why he’s continuing his legal action to get the British taxpayer to pay for his security,” he added.

The royal expert, Quinn, also claimed that the Duchess of Sussex has a “major condition” that needs to be met before returning to the UK.

“Meghan has said she’s only prepared to return to England if she and Harry have a place of their own and the security they both feel is essential. Meghan will never return to the UK and stay with her husband’s relatives,” Quinn told the news outlet.

“If the couple manage to find a permanent home and sort out the security issue they will certainly want to bring their children to the UK, but it’s going to take a lot of diplomacy to get to the point where Archie and Lili are able to develop a genuine and warm relationship with their cousins George, Charlotte and Louis,” he added.
