While speaking with PEOPLE, McGee, expecting her fourth child, says the announcement was unplanned since she posted the news on Facebook. The actress said she planned to tell her children later and assumed it wasn’t a big deal. However, her children, Ramia,31, Langston,29, and Ezra,25, from her previous marriage to actor Courtland Davis, usually remained in contact with her weekly. Still, two of them discovered the news through media reports.
They were upset upon discovering the news, but McGee says the situation brought her and her children closer. “It actually jolted us all into really talking and being together,” she explained. McGee also discussed her pregnancy journey at an advanced age and stated she used holistic and organic approaches.

The treatments were facilitated by natural remedies from the Garifuna people in Belize and they reportedly helped her counter the effects of menopause. Her husband of 16 years, Thedford, has been supportive of her pregnancy and ensures she remains stress free and content. Her pregnancy announcement also reconnected McGee with her “Boy Meets World” co-stars Ben Savage, Danielle Fishel, Will Friedle, and Rider Strong, who expressed how excited they were and well wishes.
McGee said she noticed more communication between herself and her mother and childhood best friend after the annoucement.
“My mom’s calling me a little bit more. My bestie from childhood has been calling, and we’ve been interacting. That’s what I really love about what babies do. They do have a tendency to bring families together and people who haven’t spoken in a while together. That’s the beauty of it.”
