Lil B has bestowed his blessing on the Boston Celtics as they’re just one game away from winning their 18th championship in the league.

The Eastern Conference Champions lost their first game in the ongoing NBA finals to the Dallas Mavericks on Friday (June 14), bringing the series score to 3–1 in their favor.

Prior to the loss, the Bay Area rapper endorsed the team during a chat with Barstool Backstage while expressing his admiration for the athletes on the roster.

“It’s a respect for the whole Celtics, and I appreciate how they’ve kept the team together,” he said about their perseverance through the years. “They don’t give up on the squad. It’s like, okay, stuff happens, but they get there.”

Back in 2016, Lil B took credit for the Golden State Warriors’ winning record as well as James Harden having the most turnovers in a season in NBA history, attributing both to his powers as the BasedGod.

“The power of ‘The BasedGods’ curse made James harden get record most turnovers this year and the Warriors Nba most wins record – Lil B,” he wrote on Twitter at the time.

The Warriors tied the record for the winningest season in NBA history when they beat the San Antonio Spurs in April of that year for their 72nd win.

As for Harden, he was first cursed back in May 2015 for not crediting Lil B with the celebratory cooking dance the Houston Rockets star performed during games.

The curse was temporarily lifted, but then imposed once again for the 2015 season.

In 2017, Lil B said the curse was still in effect as he threatened Harden’s chances of being named the Most Valuble Player that season.

After a 39-point loss to the San Antonio Spurs that ended the Rockets season, the internet sensation then hinted at lifting the curse for good. Soon after, he made it official.

Should the “Wanton Soup” rapper’s prediction for the 2024 NBA Finals come true, Drake will surely not be thrilled as he bet half a million dollars on the Mavs winning it all.
