Justin Timberlake Slammed by ‘Disappointed’ Fans after DWI Arrest

Justin Timberlake was recently arrested on a DWI charge after allegedly running a stop sign and swerving on the road in the Hamptons.

According to reports, Timberlake was partying with his friends at the Hamptons and left around 12:30 AM. However, several minutes after his departure, he was pulled over by traffic cops who saw him blow past a stop sign and swerve between lanes.

The singer was then subjected to a field sobriety test done to test his balance, coordination, and ability to follow instructions, which can be impaired by alcohol or drugs. Unfortunately, Timberlake failed the test and refused to take a breathalyzer test.

He was charged with one count of DWI and freed on Tuesday without posting bail. The “Selfish” singer also received a ticket for driving beyond his lane in traffic and failing to stop at a stop sign.

As stipulated by New York State law, Timberlake would have to pay the fines associated with the citation. He is scheduled to appear in court for the charge hearing on July 26.

Since news of his DWI arrest made headlines, fans have flooded Timberlake’s social media accounts with comments regarding the shocking incident.

One person condemned Timberlake, stating, “Great role model for your children…getting arrested for drunk driving.”

Another fan wrote, “I love Justin but I have to say, his DWI is disappointing. Is this a good role model for your children?!”

A third commenter expressed strong disapproval, emphasizing the potential dangers of drunk driving: “Absolutely no excuse for the DWI. YOU COULD HAVE KILLED SOMEONE, or even yourself. You’re either struggling with something which [sic] get therapy and make changes, or you need rehab. No excuse!!”

Conversely, supporters rallied to Timberlake’s defense, calling for others to understand that he is human and prone to making mistakes.

Following Timberlake’s recent DWI arrest, insiders disclosed to Page Six that the singer’s struggles with alcohol have been longstanding and widely known within his circles.

A source asserted, “It’s not a secret. Everyone knows. He has a real drinking problem, a lot of weed — but a major alcohol problem, and he’s been hiding and masking it for years.”

They expressed concern over Timberlake’s struggles with alcohol, suggesting that his issues “got to him” despite efforts to maintain a healthier lifestyle.

The insider added: “It’s a real thing, and when you have a drinking problem, it’s apparent, yet they’ve pushed this tour on him, and he’s been in a very dark place.”

Another source claimed that the singer had abstained from drinking for a significant period leading up to his DWI arrest.

The source indicated that before launching his “Forget Tomorrow World” tour in April, the “Cry Me A River” singer had adopted a healthier lifestyle, which included losing weight and eliminating alcohol from his routine.

Earlier on the same day of his arrest, Timberlake took to Instagram to share an emotional message about his two children, Silas, 9, and Phineas, 3, whom he shares with his wife, Jessica Biel, in honor of Father’s Day.

Sharing photos with his kids, the singer wrote, “My 2 greatest gifts. I learn more about myself every day just because you both chose me to be your Daddy.”

He continued, “I will always be there for you through your peaks and valleys… to lift you up and show you how high you can take this life and to pick you up when you fall. And, of course, to flood you with insufferable dad jokes all along the way. I love you both so much. Thank you for giving me my biggest purpose.”

Meanwhile, Biel took to Instagram to celebrate Father’s Day with a heartfelt tribute to her husband, Timberlake.

One photo captured Timberlake tenderly kissing her head in a selfie, while others featured him with their children.

Beginning with warm words, the “7th Heaven” actress said, “‘You’re so many things to so many people. But to us, you are THE ROCK.”
