23 Brazy (real name Tashawnda Nicole Drayton) has been apprehended for a 2023 murder after dodging law-enforcements officials for months.
On Tuesday (June 18), the rapper was taken into police custody for her involvement in the killing of 10-year-old La’Marj Holden last year.
“It feels good,” Robert Bowers of the US Marshals Service told WTKR News 3. “When we spoke last time, I told you that the Marshals Service wouldn’t rest until Tashawnda Drayton is in custody and we meant it.”
In August, Drayton showed up to a man’s house in the Franklin district of Norfolk, Virginia with three other people and got into a heated argument with him. The back-and-forth ended with her shooting the person and killing Holden in the process.
Almost a year later, the “GOT EM MAD” MC was arrested approximately 20 miles from where the crime occurred after the authorities caught her hiding at one of her relatives’ home.
“Her family member came out, and I heard Drayton’s voice from the top of the stairs saying she was coming out, and she came down the stairs and surrendered,” said Bowers.

“[The family member] could be charged with harboring a fugitive or aiding and abetting a fugitive.”
Earlier this year, he said: “On a case like this where a juvenile is involved, it means a little more and you put a little effort into it to give the family some closure.”
Because 23 Brazy had been on the run for so long after the incident in question, the US Marshals Service increased the reward for finding her from $10,000 to $20,000 in December.
The Virginia rapper had outstanding warrants for first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, aggravated malicious wounding, shooting into an occupied dwelling (two counts), use of a firearm in commission of a felony, threat to burn or damage a building, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and discharge of a firearm in a public place.
She is still facing those same charges.
