Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan are in talks to star in the upcoming second season of Netflix’s Beef. They will join the previously cast Charles Melton and Cailee Spaeny.
According to the report, Season 2 has yet to get the greenlight, but the story will revolve around two feuding couples.
The roles Isaac and Mulligan would be playing were rumored to be for Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway, but that ultimately didn’t end up happening.
In the first season, Steven Yeun plays Danny, “a down-on-his-luck contractor, alongside Ali Wong who plays Amy, a small business owner. The two strangers’ lives converge after they’re involved in a road rage incident.
“Over the course of the show’s 10 episodes, the pair’s lives become more and more entangled as their feud consumes their lives.”
The creator of the series Lee Sung Jin previously weighed in on the show’s future saying: “I wanted it to have a conclusive feel [for Season One] just in case. But there are a lot of ideas on my end to keep this story going.
“I think should we be blessed with a Season Two, there’s a lot of ways for Danny and Amy to continue. I have one really big general idea that I can’t really say yet, but I have three seasons mapped out in my head currently.”
The first season was great and It’ll be interesting to see how the upcoming season play out. I wonder how they will all connect with each other.
Isaac and Mulligan previously appeared together in the film Inside Llewyn Davis.
