While accepting her surprise award, Sharon Stone told the crowd, “There is no culture that’s so full of culture. I just can’t tell you how much it means to me that the things that I have devoted myself to have led me here. I’m so honored to be included in this evening and be apart of it with all the other honorees.”
Stone continued,”So many people wanted to finish me for my accomplishments. I was a woman and a woman who took a position of power. If you don’t use your fame to make the world a better place then it’s a wasted thing. When you’re a woman, a person of color, or someone who is LGBTQ, or someone other than a white man — you’re made to feel like you’re less or smaller, when in fact you’re the majority. Keep knowing you’re the majority. Keep being the majority. Make sure we keep our voices being the loudest. Keep voting. This award means the world to me.”
