The Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards honored Da Brat and her wife Jesseca Harris-Dupart with the “Spirit Award” during the 4th annual event.
The beautiful couple is the definition of embodying the feeling of pride and inspiration through their contributions to the entertainment and social communities. The Spirit Award honors those who have made an impact on the world by using their platform to uplift the masses and demonstrate that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, and where one does not exist, they become that light.

Not only did they become the light, they shared their light with a little of bundle of joy back in July.
The couple first shared the exciting news exclusively with PEOPLE, revealing that Da Brat gave birth to their son in Atlanta at 8:30 pm ET on July 6, weighing in at 7lbs, 8oz, and measuring 20 inches long.
Speaking on the beautiful moment, Da Brat shared how thrilled she was to have experienced welcoming their bundle of joy into the world: “I can’t BELIEVE he came out of me!” the rapper and reality star told the outlet. “Feels like a dream. He’s PERFECT in every way.” Jesseca added: “Very appreciative for such a blessing of our bundle of joy,” she says. “This journey has been more amazing than we could’ve ever imagined.” So what did they name their baby boy? “His name had been True Legend Harris-Dupart but now that we’ve met him we are tempted to name him PERFECT,” Jesseca said. Despite that, the two kept the name True.
The couple walked on stage at the Beverly Hilton matching in orange and accepted their award with a beautiful smile on their faces. “We’re happy that our transparent journey has helped people. We now share with you our love story and our child that we miss a lot,” Jesseca shared.”

Da Brat then interjected and shared, “giving is what we like to do and despite what other people want to believe, God put us together.” She also weighed in on what it was like coming up in the industry and explained how people tried to keep her in the closet to maintain an image but she stood out and lived her true life and that’s why she and her wife are receiving this amazing award.
