Some video footage from the set of director Maggie Gyllenhaal’s upcoming film The Bride! has surfaced online.
It offers footage of Christian Bale as Frankenstein’s Monster in action along with Jessie Buckley, who take on the role of the bride.
This film was inspired by classic Universal Monster horror movie The Bride of Frankenstein, and it looks like a very unique and different take on the story.
The film “sees a lonely Frankenstein travel to 1930s Chicago to seek the aide of a Dr. Euphronius in creating a companion for himself. The two reinvigorate a murdered young woman and the Bride is born.”
She is beyond what either of them intended, “igniting a combustible romance, the attention of the police and a wild and radical social movement.”
The Bride! also stars Penelope Cruz, Peter Sarsgaard, and Annette Bening (Nyad).
I’m curious about this movie and it’ll be interesting to see this new vision of a classic horror story, The Bride! is currently set to hit theaters on October 3, 2025.
