Warner Bros. has released the funky fun ending credit sequence of its new Suicide Squad ISEKAI anime series. While all the characters are involved, there’s a particular focus on Amanda Waller… dancing.

You can really only get away with this kind of weirdness in anime, and they certainly lean into it here. This project comes from Warner Bros. Japan LLC and WIT Studio (Spy x Family, Ranking of Kings).

In the crime-ridden Gotham city, “Amanda Waller, the head of A.R.G.U.S., has assembled a group of notorious criminals for a mission: Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Peacemaker, Clayface and King Shark.”

“These DC Super-Villains are sent into an otherworldly realm that’s connected to this world through a gate. It’s a world of swords and magic where orcs rampage and dragons rule the skies—an “ISEKAI”!

Harley and others go on a rampage after arriving in ISEKAI but are captured by the Kingdom’s soldiers and sent to prison. They only have 72 hours before the bomb on their neck explodes.

“The deadline is fast approaching. After negotiations with Queen Aldora, the condition for liberation was the conquest of the hostile Imperial army. They have no choice but to throw themselves head-first into the front line of battle.”

They run; they die. They lose; they die. With their lives on the line, can Harley Quinn and The Suicide Squad survive in ISEKAI?

“Brace yourselves for the pulse-pounding saga of the elite task force known as the “Suicide Squad” as they embark on a jaw-dropping adventure! Let the party begin!

Suicide Squad ISEKAI is directed by Eric Osada, with screenplays by Tappei Nagasaki and Eiji Umehara. It features character designs by Naoto Hosed and character design drafts by Akira Amano. Amano said of working on the series:

“I’m a big fan of Harley Quinn and the other characters in the Suicide Squad movie! Eri Osada’s clear vision for Harley’s design made the process smoother than expected, and I enjoyed drawing her costume and muscles while imagining her action-packed adventures in the story.”

Nagasaki previously said: “It is finally announced, Suicide Squad ISEKAI. ISEKAI! Suicide Squad! Who has ever thought about mixing these two!? But this is sure to be a dream project. Crazy villains go on a rampage in ISEKAI! It’s nothing more, nothing less, and it can’t be anything else!”

Umehara added, “What would happen if the fascinating characters of DC Comics went to another world? I am honored to be involved in a work with such a boyish and straightforward idea. I drew a variety of villains with one goal in mind; to make Harley look cute! I hope you will join me in enjoying and enlivening this World.”

Harley Quinn will be voiced by Anna Nagase, Deadshot will be voiced by Reigo Yamaguchi, Peacemaker will be voiced by Takehito Koyasu, Clayface will be voiced by Jun Fukuyam, and King Shark will be voiced by Subaru Kimura. The Joker will be voiced by Yuichiro Umehara.

The series is coming in July 2024.
