Danielle Olivera shattered the hearts of some Summer House fans when she announced she’d be leaving the show last week. This means there will likely be new faces for season 9 of the show, and more exits may come soon.
However, she still has ties to the cast and the network as a whole. Recently, she opened up about her issues with Paige DeSorbo, gave an update on her dating life, and also shared what’s next for her.
Fans know that Danielle recently shared a lengthy message on Instagram saying she had to “trust her gut” about her future with Summer House. She had been with the show since its second season, so her departure shocked many. However, she did previously “take a step back” from the show during season four.
Danielle recently spoke to Life & Style about her issues with Paige and how her remarks at the reunion bothered her. She says, “Obviously, there was a lot of tension around that, and I did want to speak my piece, but there was an argumentative style that you can’t get your point too much across.”
She continues, “I could have handled it better, but it was just so upsetting.”
Danielle also expressed how Paige’s remarks in her confessionals during season 8 had an impact on her. While watching the show back, she felt discredited by her castmate on several occasions. In particular, Paige’s comments about her work were the most harmful, as she questioned Danielle for claiming she was a “CEO.”
Danielle says, “I don’t think it’s fair to discredit someone even if you think it’s funny. She is funny. I’m not going to knock her for anything like that. She’s a very funny person and very successful in her own right, but we can all be successful and support each other. I just didn’t feel that from her.”
As the CEO of her mobile application, Danielle says, “You just kind of take the plunge, you risk it all, and you hope it works out. You do the best that you can for yourself, your team, and the people that are using your product. That’s what I believe I’m doing. I’m a founder and CEO. Sorry you don’t like to hear it.”
Danielle also talked to the outlet about the “Balloon Guy” from season 8 of the show. Fans will recall that the two hit it off and seemed to be heading towards a relationship. However, distance got in the way.
According to Danielle, “He’s so wonderful. I really, really do like him. We have been on dates and we do enjoy each other’s company. Right now, [with] our schedules and timing and everything like that, I think that it’s just best to be friends and casual.”
Still, she says they are on “great terms” despite not seeing each other as often as they did during the summer of 2023.
According to Bravo, Danielle also shared her plans after her exit from Summer House on her Instagram stories. After announcing her departure from the show, she had this to say, “I did spend all day yesterday staying off the internet lol that will be the last. I plan on spending more time connecting with all of you right here and on [Donne]. So much work to do and a lot more to come. Feeling… happy.”
For context, Donne is the app that Danielle created and is also the CEO of.
Regarding this summer, she said, “You can bet I’ll be rooting for another incredible season from my Summer House fam.”
