The previous episode of The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord’s Army Was a Human, “Ike, Commander of the Undying Brigade,” opens with a commentary on Ike’s lore.
Ike’s assistant, Jiron, follows him as they lead the demon army in a fortress city, Arsenum. Soon, Ike attacks the city’s lord and asks Jiron to cater to the lord’s wounds.
The episode further reveals that Ike is a human adopted by a great demon mage, Romberg. Surprisingly, a little girl finds out Ike’s secret, but before he can deal with her, Cefiro summons him.
Cefiro and Ike visit the Demon Lord, Dairokuten, where his secret is almost revealed. Later, Ike finds out that Dairokuten has rewarded him with the opportunity to rule Ivalias.
Using human and demon forces, Ike refurbishes the city walls for security. Moreover, he asks Satie to be his maid, which she readily agrees to.
