Co-stars Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron have shared the A Family Affair original title for Netflix’s latest romantic comedy movie, which is now available for streaming.

What was the A Family Affair original title?

During a recent interview, Kidman and Efron have revealed that A Family Affair’s original NSFW title was something that immediately caught their attention. After first working together in 2012’s The Paperboy movie, they are once again playing each other’s love interests in the newest Netflix film.

“It was called ‘Motherf—–,’” Efron said (via IndieWire). Kidman adds, “Beeped out. Somehow that didn’t make it onto the Netflix title.”

He continued, “I jumped. I think we both kind of did. We jumped at it. It was like, this is perfect. What better way to reconnect? And we get to have fun.”

A Family Affair was directed by Richard LaGravenese (Living Out Loud, Freedom Writers) from a screenplay written by Carrie Solomon. The ensemble cast also includes Joey King, Kathy Bates, Liza Koshy, Shirley MacLaine, Sherry Cola, Olivia Macklin, Wes Jetton, Ian Gregg, Sarah Baskin, and more. It was executive produced by Solomon, Michelle Morrissey and Alyssa Altman, with Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum serving as producers

Besides A Family Affair, Kidman will next be seen in Mimi Cave’s thriller drama Holland, Michigan with Matthew Macfadyen, and in Halina Reijn’s erotic thriller Babygirl with Antonio Banderas. As for King, she’s also currently attached for the leading role in the action fantasy film The Uglies from director McG. Meanwhile, Efron most recently starred in Prime Video’s raunchy comedy Ricky Stanicky from Peter Farrelly.
