Oop! After Drake dissed Serena Williams‘ husband about two years ago, the iconic tennis player is holding things down for her man and hometown of Compton, California as she professes her love for Kendrick Lamar‘s “Not Like Us” and calls it the “hit of the Summer!”

While appearing on a panel at this year’s Essence Fest, Refinery 29’s ‘Unbothered’ platform for Black voices uploaded a video of Serena Williams who was reportedly asked about her thoughts on Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” diss towards Drake. In a video posted to R29 Unbothered’s TikTok, Serena said, “Oh, I love that song. It’s the hit of the Summer! Whew! When they play that jam, I’m jamming. I’m jamming jamming.”
Now Serena Williams’ reported love for Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” arrives about two years after Drake dissed her husband Alexis Ohanian, which K. Dot even called out in one diss track towards Drake. It all started when Drake dropped his 2022 album ‘Her Loss,’ featuring the song “Middle of the Ocean,” which reportedly contained several subtle references to others, including Serena Williams and her husband Alexis Ohanian, an American entrepreneur and co-founder of Reddit.

On the track, Drake rapped, “Sidebar, Serena, your husband a groupie / He claim we don’t got a problem but / No, boo (a reference to Nobu), it is like you comin’ for sushi / We might pop up on ’em at will like Suzuki.” Before the apparent shade, Drake and Serena Williams were friends for a long time before facing dating rumors in the early 2010s and again reportedly becoming romantically involved in 2015.
At the time, TMZ reported that they were a thing and shared various photos of them kissing in restaurants, etc. However, neither the 5-time Grammy Award-winner nor the 23-time Grand Slam champion ever confirmed being romantically involved. In November 2017, Serena Williams married Alexis Ohanian and they are now the proud parents of two daughters.

Following Drake’s jabs on “Middle of the Ocean,” Ohanian seemingly responded on Twitter by posting a picture of himself and daughter Olympia taken from the sidelines at one of Williams’ tennis matches. He captioned the post, “The reason I stay winning is because I’m relentless about being the absolute best at whatever I do — including being the best groupie for my wife & daughter.”
Ohanian has since continued to issue jabs back at Drake, taking to his social media to mention how he likes to listen to Kendrick Lamar and how K. Dot is a top 1% rapper during his recent rap feud with Drizzy.
