While speaking with PEOPLE, Blanchard said the timing of her pregnancy was not ideal but called it a blessing: “I take it in stride and move forward with it. I couldn’t be happier. It’s kind of the wrong timing, but it’s a blessing. So we’re happy.” Blanchard and Urker rekindled their relationship after being previously engaged while she was incarcerated for the her involvement in the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. The couple ended their engagement in 2019 but reunited after Blanchard was released from prison in December 2023.
When Blanchard was released from prison, she was already married to Ryan Anderson but filed for divorce in April. On the latest episode of Live After Lockup, she took a morning-after pill while she was still with Anderson. “At the time, with everything going on with me and Ryan and the instability of our marriage, it wasn’t the right time for me then. And I’m not even saying right now is the right time,” she explained.
