EXCLUSIVE: After the premiere of his new talk show on X, sports media personality Jim Rome is showing he still has a lot in the tank, as recent data shows a promising start for his new venture.
Since launching the new three-hour live talk show on his X account on May 28, the show has had around 70 million total impressions as well as 42 million video views with about 11K in engagements, a strong start for a show that hasn’t even aired 50 episodes yet.
“We couldn’t be happier with the successful launch of Jim’s show” said Brett Weitz, Head of Content, Talent, and Brand Sales at X. “As X continues to evolve into a video first destination at the epicenter of the world’s most dynamic conversations, we’re able to give creators like Jim ownership and autonomy to build a completely new fan first experience while also allowing him to connect with his audience in a much more tactical way. Even after 35 years of being in front of the most passionate sports audience on a daily basis, he now more than ever, has the ability to socially engage with his guests, curate topics in real time, and deliver to an ever-growing fanbase hungry for the most provocative of conversations. Jim has unlocked a deep bench of fans, and fandom, on the platform and we can’t wait to watch it continue to grow.”
With the changing times as media personalities specifically those specializing in the world of sports, Rome still shows, as he enters his fourth decade in the business, his loyal following is still strong. Best known for his aggressive, informed, rapid-fire dialogue, Rome has established himself as the top choice of athletes and fans for sports news and commentary beyond the scoreboard.
He has always shown his ability to evolve in the sports media landscape and in 2024, he continues to be at the forefront of the evolution and growth of sports talk by switching distribution platforms and bringing The Jim Rome Show to X with a live three-hour simulcast, so that all sports fans could watch for free. The nationally syndicated show streams live through Rome’s account each day on X (formerly Twitter) while continuing to broadcast live on radio throughout the country as part of Audacy and Westwood One’s Infinity Sports Network.
A one-hour highlight version of The Jim Rome Show, titled Jim Rome’s Daily Jungle, is available as a daily podcast. Rome also produces two additional podcasts each week: The Jim Rome Podcast a long form interview podcast and The Reinvention Project with Jim Rome which focuses on inspirational stories, motivation and Rome’s own efforts to reinvent his mind, body, spirit and brand.
Rome previously hosted the weekday half-hour Rome for CBS Sports Network and Jim Rome on Showtime on Showtime; the ESPN program, Rome Is Burning; the popular program The Last Word with Jim Rome for five years on Fox Sports Net; ESPN2’s Talk2 a nightly one-hour interview show; among countless other successful programs.
In addition to his new partnership with X, Rome will soon be launching his Fast Channel which will be available via multiple platforms late August.
Rome is represented by Range Media Partners, Attorney Dave Feldman (Brecheen, Feldman, Breimer , Silver and Thompson), and manager Kraig Kitchin
