Apple TV+ has renewed Presumed Innocent for Season 2. The show was a big hit and is said to be the most-viewed drama in the streaming service’s history.
News of the renewal comes ahead of the season finale, which is coming on July 24th.
It’s explained that the new season will focus on an entirely new case, and there’s no word on if Jake Gyllenhaal will return to star in the second season. I guess that all depends on how the first season comes to an end.
Presumed Innocent is based on the novel of the same name by Scott Turow. Gyllenhaal stars as Rusty Sabich, a prosecutor who is accused of the murder of one of his colleagues.
The cast also includes Ruth Negga, Bill Camp, Elizabeth Marvel, Peter Sarsgaard, O-T Fagbenle, and Renate Reinsve.
The first season has been a very well-made show with great writing and a gripping story. I’ve enjoyed it! David E. Kelley serves as showrunner and executive producer. J.J. Abrams and Rachel Rusch Rich are also executive producers of the series.
