Season 12 of Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta is gearing up for a dramatic ride centered around the turbulent marriage of Kirk Frost and Rasheeda Buckner-Frost. Adding to the intrigue, former flames Erica Dixon and Lil Scrappy may be sparking a romance once more, while Erica is also expecting a child, as teased in the show’s explosive new trailer released on July 16.
The preview hints at renewed challenges in Kirk and Rasheeda’s 23-year marriage, amplified by accusations from Kirk’s former side chick, Jasmine Washington, who claims he tried to pursue an affair while still married to the rapper and entrepreneur. A pivotal scene shows Jasmine and Rasheeda having a private discussion, leaving viewers curious about whether a fallout from said cheating allegations will pop off.
Kirk’s infidelity with Jasmine in 2016, which led to the birth of their son Kannon, nearly shattered his marriage with Rasheeda. Their strong bond was once again tested when Rasheeda also admitted to cheating during their relationship. The couple made a committed decision to confront their marital challenges head-on. Now, they face another daunting test of their enduring love.
Are Erica and Lil Scrappy back together and expecting a child?
Meanwhile, romance seems to be reigniting between Erica and Lil Scrappy. In the revealing teaser, Erica, who dated the rapper from 2002 to 2013, was shown sharing a passionate kiss with the “Some Cut” artist and disclosing her pregnancy. Although it’s uncertain if Scrappy is the father of her unborn child, the revelation came shortly after Spice questioned Scrappy about whether he was still sexually active with Erica.
Over the years, the duo has experienced a number of ups and downs, including the birth of their daughter Emani and an engagement that ended in 2013. In a 2016 interview on Bossip’s Don’t Be Scared podcast, Erica cited Scrappy’s communication issues, infidelity and lack of presence and support for their daughter as reasons for calling off their wedding.
Love isn’t lost between the two.
After years of struggling to see eye-to-eye, Erica and Lil Scrappy appear to be in a good place now. During an interview with Carlos King in February of this year, Lil Scrappy revealed he was still in love with Erica. In the same interview, Dixon shared that they regularly attend counseling sessions and successfully co-parent their now 18-year-old daughter, Emani.

Some expressed fatigue with the recurring storyline involving the couple, while others voiced a desire to see Erica and Scrappy reconcile. Several viewers who had not followed the show in recent years expressed newfound interest in the chaotic stories unfolding among the cast members.
One user even speculated that VH1 may have re-introduced Jasmine to boost ratings, noting fluctuations in viewership of the Atlanta franchise over the past year. According to data obtained by TV deets, viewership for Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta Season 11 kicked off with 506,000 viewers in 2023, ending with a low of 303,000 viewers in April of this year.
