On Monday, Demolition Ranch founder Matt Carriker shared a video on his channel to distance himself and his brand from Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, who was identified as the gunman in the assassination attempt on Trump at the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday. According to TOO FAB, Carriker addressed his 11 million subscribers and shared his reaction to seeing Crooks wearing a Demolition Ranch shirt.
“Across the board, across all my videos, we really don’t talk about politics at all. We keep politics out of it. For one, it’s not my bread and butter, but also I don’t feel the need to impose my political views and beliefs on other people. However, we were thrust into the conversation after last weekend,” Carriker said he and his team were baffled and shocked to find Crooks wearing their merchandise. “And that sucked to see that. Yeah, that was rough.”

Carriker noted that his merchandise is shipped worldwide, and his team doesn’t vet the buyers, but he would love to prevent people like Crooks from buying, wearing, or being associated with the clothing brand.
To see my name next to the shooter’s name … ugh, it sucks. And I wish we could keep that from happening. No matter what side you’re on politically, none of us want violence. This channel was never meant to incite violence or hate. It never has. It isn’t, and it never will be, a channel that does that.”
He said since the shooting; news outlets have been reaching out to see if he is associated or has any alleged relationship with the shooter. Carriker explained that it was an unfortunate coincidence that Trump happened to be shot at, and the shooter wore one of his shirts. He also sent his condolences to the victim who died during the shooting and the two others who were injured.
