CNN host Van Jones is proudly proclaiming that he spoke with over 20,000 Black men and they all vowed to protect Vice President Kamala Harris, noting that they will not allow her to be disrespected as Hillary Clinton was during her run for president. It’s also been reported that over 53,000 Black men were on that call Jones referenced and together, they raised over $1.3 million in four hours for Kamala Harris.

As we previously shared, on Sunday (July 21), President Joe Biden officially announced that he was backing out of the 2024 race to focus on finishing his current presidential term. He said, “It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”

He later shared his official endorsement of VP Kamala Harris, stating, “Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump.” VP Kamala Harris released her own statement, revealing that she’s running for President in the 2024 race.

She said, “With this selfless and patriotic act, President Biden is doing what he has done throughout his life of service: putting the American people and our country above everything else. I am honored to have the President’s endorsement and my intention is to earn and win this nomination. Over the past year, I have traveled across the country, talking with Americans about the clear choice in this momentous election. And that is what I will continue to do in the days and weeks ahead. I will do everything in my power to unite the Democratic Party—and unite our nation—to defeat Donald Trump and his extreme Project 2025 agenda. We have 107 days until Election Day. Together, we will fight. And together, we will win.”

The shocking move has caught both positive and negative feedback, and responding to all the harsh criticism, insults, and disrespect toward VP Kamala Harris is Van Jones who says he spoke with over 20,000 Black men who will not be putting up with any of it.

During a CNN broadcast, Jones and his fellow panelists reacted to a clip of Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) calling Kamala Harris a “DEI hire” and calling her a “mediocre Vice President” with an “abysmal record.” Jones fired back and said, “This is going to work out badly because they‘ve worked very hard to attract Black men into the Republican Party; they worked very hard to attract Latin men into the Republican Party; and they were getting a little bit of momentum there. There were a lot of Black men who were saying, ‘Democrats don‘t do anything for us,’ and ‘Biden‘s weak,’ and… — The people, they were starting to look over there at the Republican Party.”

Van Jones continued to fire off a warning claiming no disrespect will be tolerated with Kamala Harris as it was with Hillary Clinton. He said, “You start insulting Black women, you‘re going to see something you haven‘t seen before. Black men are not going to put up with that. I want to send out a warning as clear as I can. I was on a phone call with 20,000 Black men, and the word ‘protect’ came up about 1,000 times. ‘Protect this sister. Protect this sister. We’re going to protect her. Protect her.’ You‘re about to see something you haven‘t seen before. Look, people messed around with Hillary Clinton and said a bunch of mean stuff to her. Black men sat that out. We won‘t sit this out. So, I don‘t think that the Republican Party understands that all the work that they did trying to get us over there, two more days of this, it‘s going to be a problem.”
