At 57 years old, she’s still the cat’s meow.
Halle Berry dared to bare it all in honor of the 20th anniversary of her film Catwoman. Leave it to Berry to turn a 2004 box-office flop into a bonafide bombshell moment. The actress posed topless with her two absolutely adorable black rescue cats, Boots and Coco, and shared the flirty pictures with her 8.6 million followers on Instagram.
“It’s been 20 years today since I had the honor of bringing this iconic character to life,” the Oscar-winner captioned the gallery. “She will always be close to my heart and I will forever be Patience Phillips aka CATWOMAN!”
“Thank you @missjee79!,” she added. “When these black beauties showed up in my yard searching for their mother, Jee helped us through the rescue process. Forever grateful! ♥︔
The fun photoshoot not only showed off Berry’s taunt physique but also spotlighted the former DC Comics superhero’s love of pets. In a previous post on Instagram, Berry explained how she first rescued the cats after they had wandered into her backyard.
“I found these two little fur babies in my yard along with their 2 siblings and their mom!” Berry explained. “I got the mommy spayed and released her back in my yard and she’s now our outdoor cat and the other 2 babies I’ve found a forever home for and these two are our new lovies. It’s a full house over here!”
Berry credits the film, which earned her a Razzie at the time, for her love of cats.
“I became a cat lover because of [the movie],” she told Entertainment Weekly after co-starring with the feline Playdoh in the film. “I’m a Catwoman through and through because of that experience and those relationships,” she continued. “That experience changed me.”
Berry was also affected by the negative reviews, but she credits being a strong black woman for her ability to laugh off the haters.
“I didn’t love [the backlash]. Being a Black woman, I’m used to carrying negativity on my back, fighting, being a fish swimming upstream by myself. I’m used to defying stereotypes and making a way out of no way. I didn’t want to be casual about it, but I went and collected that Razzie, laughed at myself, and kept it moving,” Berry told EW. “It didn’t derail me because I’ve fought as a Black woman my whole life. A little bad publicity about a movie? I didn’t love it, but it wasn’t going to stop my world or derail me from doing what I love to do.”
