Cardi B has revealed that she is expecting her third child with Offset, just hours after it was confirmed by her rep that she has filed for divorce from her husband for the second time.
The “Enough” rapper took to Instagram on Thursday (August 1) to share a first look at her growing baby bump, in a stunning photo set against the New York City skyline as a backdrop.
She captioned the photo with a note to her unborn child, in which she mentioned an “ending,” without addressing the divorce news directly.
“With every ending comes a new beginning,” Cardi started. “I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power! Reminded me that I can have it all! You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion!”
She continued: “I love you so much and can not wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do! It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and test laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!”
This will be the 31-year-old’s third child with Offset, with whom she also shares daughter Kulture, 6, and son Wave, 2. Offset has three other children from previous relationships.
Earlier on Thursday, TMZ reported the bombshell news of Cardi B filing for divorce for the second time, with the outlet claiming that the Bronx rap star’s decision isn’t related to cheating rumors, which have plagued her seven-year relationship with Offset.
A source close to the couple says the divorce filing has been “a long time coming” and Cardi and Offset have simply been growing apart for a while.
The insider adds that the powerhouse Hip Hop couple made an effort to reconcile earlier this year, but were unable to work through their issues.
While the split is described as amicable, Cardi has reportedly already hired a high-powered divorce lawyer and is seeking primary custody of their children.
The couple married in September 2017 after months of dating, but their honeymoon period was quickly rocked by a cheating scandal when Offset was seemingly filmed naked with another woman.
Cardi later filed for divorce in 2020 but ultimately withdrew.
Their rollercoaster relationship hit another rough path late last year when Cardi B revealed that she had been “single” for some time.
“I want to start 2024 fresh, open. I’m curious for a new life, for a new beginning. And yeah, I’m excited!” she told fans on Instagram Live. “New look, new life, new everything.

The “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker later tore into her estranged husband during an emotional rant, accusing him of “doing [her] dirty” and failing to show gratitude for her “help.”
Cardi later revealed that she slept with Offset on New Year’s Eve because she was horny, after which the couple were soon on various dates and family outings.
Whether this is the end for Cardi and Offset or another twist in their turbulent relationship lies ahead remains to be seen.
