Phoebe Dynevor Told Sheer Dress ‘Cheap’ For A ‘Pretty’ Girl

Phoebe Dynevor landed on a tough crowd as reactions to her 2022 Met Gala look poured in. The Bridgerton star, who is signed to designer Louis Vuitton, made sure to rep the luxury designer as she stepped onto the red carpet, but users on The Daily Mail seemed horrified at her fashion choice. Showing off her English Rose good looks, Phoebe had endless users calling her beautiful, but that sheer black gown seemingly didn’t cut it for them. Alongside having her look called “tacky,” Phoebe was told her outfit looked “cheap,” although the remark did come from a fanbase noting how “pretty” she is.

Going embellished and with a see-through midriff panel flashing her toned torso, the actress also rocked bralette-like cups that kept her safe, with a long flowing skirt part flashing her long legs.

Layering tutu-like details around her waist for a miniskirt-over-long-skirt effect, the TV favorite teamed her dress with black high heels, although with her dress dragging on the ground, fans barely saw her footwear. Keeping glam with her hair down and styled into soft waves, Phoebe Dynevor sported pale makeup, opting for discreet foundation and a little blush, plus a rosy-pink lip. Her cosmetics were courtesy of cult luxury beauty brand Charlotte Tilbury, a brand Phoebe regularly influences on her Instagram.

The comments hit hard. “Shame they couldn’t get her a nice dress, she’s a pretty girl,” one fan replied. “The dress just seems to hang on her – looks cheap and tacky,” another said.

Also slamming the look, but joining others in noting Phoebe’s beauty, a third wrote: “Why did she decide to wear that!! Looks awful and she’s so pretty.” The comments just kept on coming, and they very much seemed to be saying the same thing. Yet another fan chimed in, saying: “She has a pretty face. Poor outfit choice, however.” Phoebe may have gotten the thumbs-down, but with her fat paycheck as a Louis Vuitton ambassador, she’s having the last laugh. Also fronting LV right now are actresses Zendaya and Ana de Armas.

In May, Phoebe Dynevor graced the 2024 Met Gala, this time opting for more color. Dazzling in a sheer pink gown from designer Victoria Beckham, the actress stuck to all things British, marking her attendance at the NYC-held event on Instagram and earning over 1.6 million likes for the snap.
