Laura Dern on a Bradley Cooper’s Is This Thing On?

Below you’ll find the Final Jeopardy clue for August 7, 2024. Like the other clues this month, the episodes are still covering the encore presentation of the Jeopardy Tournament of Champions that took place in Season 40 earlier this year. Tonight’s episode originally aired on March 8, 2024, so the match will be a repeat for people who have already watched it. The game tonight will have three challengers, specifically Emily Sands from Minnesota, Yogesh Raut from Washington, and David Sibley from Washington. Here’s the question and answer for Final Jeopardy on 8/7/2024 episode, plus all of the contestants’ wagers and the ultimate winner.

Final Jeopardy Question for August 7

The Final Jeopardy question for August 7, 2024 is in the category of “Literature & Religion” and has the following clue:

“his city now in Turkey is the addressee of one of the New Testament epistles & the setting for “The Comedy of Errors”

As usual, you can find the answer in the final section of this guide. This is so you don’t accidentally have the answer spoiled unless you really want it.

Final Jeopardy Wagers and Winner for August 7

The August 7 episode was a runaway game with the episode’s winner, Yogesh, not needing to answer the Final Jeopardy question correctly at all. But he did, anyway, making him the semi-finalist in the Tournament of Champions.

Yogesh had $21,400 coming into Final Jeopardy and didn’t wager anything. This left him with the same total. Both David and Emily had the same guess but were ultimately incorrect. David began with $6,200, but left with $2,479 in third place after losing $3,721 on his wager. Starting with $6,800, Emily played it safer with a $0 bid, thereby landing in second place.

Final Jeopardy Answer for August 7

The correct answer for Final Jeopardy on August 7, 2024 is “What is Ephesus?”

The clue refers to a letter addressed by Paul to Christians in Ephesus, which is where the apostle labored for two to three years. That might be difficult piece of trivia for most, especially for those who don’t know that much about the New Testament.

That said, it will likely be easier for people to know about Shakespeare’s “The Comedy of Errors”, which takes place in the Greek city of Ephesus. The play is a farcical comedy that features a lot of puns, wordplay, and slapstick. It tells a story about identical twins who are separated at birth, leading to many incidents of mistaken identity by both of their families and friends.
