Janet Jackson will be hitting the road soon to start a new residency in Las Vegas, according to TMZ.
The 58-year-old singer and performer is reportedly in the “final stages” of signing a contract for her new gig which will be held at the Resorts World Las Vegas, set to debut in December. Jackson will also throw a special New Year’s Eve event at the venue in honor of her new show.
The duration of the star’s residency remains uncertain, but sources close to the Grammy-winning singer informed TMZ that the series of shows will be limited. Nevertheless, Jackson’s manager, Mo Elmasri, shared with the Daily Mail that she’s thrilled to perform for fans in Sin City.
“We are thrilled to announce Janet’s upcoming residency at Resorts World Las Vegas,” Elmasri gushed. “This partnership offers a unique opportunity to celebrate her legacy and deliver unforgettable performances.”
Elmasri added, “The energy and excitement of Las Vegas, especially around the holiday season, make it the perfect setting for this new chapter. Janet is excited to connect with her fans and bring her iconic music to life in a fresh and dynamic way.”
It’s unclear where and when tickets will be available for the superstar’s highly anticipated residency, but be sure to keep your eyes peeled on her official website for more information.
This isn’t the first time the “Pleasure Principle” hitmaker has been offered a residency.
Jackson was previously offered a residency in London but turned it down in favor of a more lucrative deal in Las Vegas, according to reports. In 2019, the revered performer wowed fans with her Metamorphosis residency in Las Vegas at the Park MGM, the same venue where Usher stole the show for his two-and-a-half-year-long residency, which came to an end in December 2023.
Mrs. Jackson has been booked and busy. In July, the music icon concluded her highly acclaimed Together Again Tour, which took her to 35 cities across North America. The special show, produced by Live Nation, followed her successful 2023 tour run and celebrated her 50th anniversary in entertainment.
Fans enjoyed a setlist filled with her greatest hits, including “When I Think of You,” “Control,” and “All For You,” while marking milestones such as 25 years of her critically acclaimed album The Velvet Rope and 30 years of Janet, her fifth studio album that spawned hits like “That’s the Way Love Goes” and “Throb.”
Congrats to Janet! Will you be heading to Las Vegas to see the queen in action?
