Sacramento punks Destroy Boys are officially back with their new album, Funeral Soundtrack #4, today, which taps into their punk roots while also stretching out to explore their other left-field influences, like salsa and bossa nova.
In addition to their singles “Boyfeel” — a cut vocalist/guitarist Alexia Roditis began writing at 17 years old about their relationship with gender nonconformity — “Should’ve Been Me,” “Plucked,” “Shadow (I’m Breaking Down),” and “Beg For The Torture,” one of its standouts includes a collaboration with Scowl and Mannequin Pussy called “You Hear Yes.” It’s a snarling equalist anthem that’s catchy as hell, pushing back against harassment, assault, and other groundless behavior.
