Emily Simpson weighs in on Alexis Bellino being cast on RHOC and coming after Shannon Beador throughout season 18.

Real Housewives of Orange County star Emily Simpson appeared on Jeff Lewis Live, where she discussed Alexis Bellino‘s return for season 18 and her ongoing drama with Shannon Beador.

To start, a caller asked Emily Simpson her thoughts on Alexis being cast on RHOC.

“Emily, I wanted to ask you why you think Alexis was casted this season because it just seems so thirsty. With everything that’s going on with Shannon and like you just, I don’t know. It’s just so bizarre. And then she adopts a Golden Retriever. It looks just like Archie. I’m just like, I think Jeff, maybe you asked if that was producer-led right for the photo shoot with Emily,” the caller asked.

The longtime RHOC star responded:

“You know, I have heard that Alexis had possibly been courted to come back previously for previous seasons as a friend and I had filmed with her. I don’t know if you guys remember a couple of years ago, we launched kind of to catch up with her.”

She continued, “The question is, is if she always said no before, why did she say yes now? And so I think clearly, I mean, it’s obvious why she came back or why they wanted her to come back. I mean, everybody’s watching, and everybody’s talking about it. So it does make good TV, but it makes good TV at Shannon’s expense. And so l don’t know what else to say.”

Despite Alexis’ much-anticipated return for season 18, she believes that Shannon is the one coming out on top. In fact, Emily says that Shannon is winning while Alexis is losing amid their drama.

“I think Shannon’s really winning, and I think that she deserves that. I think she came into the season with the deck stacked against her. She’s got a DUl, she has John’s new girlfriend [on the show, she’s getting sued, and I think she just continues to look like the bigger person and the better party in all of this … Alexis is clearly losing this battle,” Emily said.

It turns out Emily’s comments on Jeff Lewis’ radio show didn’t sit well with Alexis and her team. The returning RHOC star’s agent called out Emily on social media for having nothing better to talk about than Alexis while also claiming Emily has NO storyline.

“We love a self-aware queen! Emily admits she has nothing to offer the audience other than speaking negatively about her cast,” the agent wrote on Instagram.

The Real Housewives of Orange County airs on Bravo Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET.
