Wooo! Team USA is on fire as Stephen Curry made several heroic shots during the Men’s Basketball Olympic Games against France — leading Team USA to victory and another Gold, with LeBron James being named MVP, and Kevin Durant becoming the first player to earn four Gold medals in Men’s Olympic Basketball history.

On Saturday (August 10), the Team USA Men’s Basketball team earned its fifth consecutive Gold medal and with the win, Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant made history after winning his fourth Gold medal in the Men’s Olympic Basketball games.

Helping the team to victory was Gold State Warriors star Stephen Curry, aka Steph Curry, who electrified Team USA with a wild 3-pointer shot in the latter part of the game. With only 2 minutes and 48 seconds left in the game, Team USA was up by only three points. However, Curry put the pressure on France’s Guerschon Yabusele and ended up extending Team USA’s 3-point lead to six — making the shot the first of four 3-pointers that Curry it in the last minutes of the game.

After grabbing the ball from Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry then had Nic Batum and teammate Evan Fournier trying to stop him, throwing hands in his face, as he ended up throwing another heroic shot with just six seconds left on the shot clock. Swish! Curry hit the shot and Team USA won the game, 98-87.

Speaking on the heroic feat after the game, Curry told NBC’s Mike Tirico, “That was an unbelievable moment. I’ve been blessed to play basketball at a high level for a very long time. I don’t know … This ranks very high in terms of the excitement and sense of relief getting to the finish line.”

He added, “It is special. Two years ago, when we won our last championships, I knew that this was gonna be on the horizon and something that I was excited to go after. Anything you sign up for, any mission that you take on, you give everything you have … these last five weeks together with this group has been nothing but 1-2-3 Gold. That’s what we’ve seen saying. So, for us to finally accomplish that, for me to get a Gold medal is insane and I thank God for the opportunity to experience it.”

Ending the game, Curry had 24 points, all from 3-pointers; Kevin Durant and Devin Booker each had 15 points, and LeBron James finished with 14 points. James was also named the the 2024 Olympics Men’s Basketball MVP (Most Valuable Player), by the Fédération Internationale de Basketball (FIBA).

In addition to Stephen Curry’s heroic feat and LeBron James being named MVP, Kevin Durant hit a feat of his own by becoming the first player in history to earn four Gold medals in the Men’s Olympic Basketball games. Durant has won Gold medals in 2012, 2016, 2020, and now 2024. He still remains among the top ten best players in the NBA at 35.
