It’s been 10 years since Patricia Arquette’s barnstorming Oscars speech calling for equal pay. She’s ‘sad’ about where things stand now.

The Gilded Age is expanding its ensemble.

Bill Camp (Presumed Innocent) and Merritt Wever (Nurse Jackie), along with Leslie Uggams (Roots) and Lisagay Hamilton (Winning Time) are joining the HBO drama that’s currently in production on its third season.

Camp will play JP Morgan, who finds himself at odds with George Russell (Morgan Spector) over the future of the railroad industry. Wever will play Monica O’ Brien, the estranged sister of Bertha (Carrie Coon).

Uggams will take over as Mrs. Ernestine Brown, a friend of Elizabeth Kirkland and a member of the Black elite community in Newport. Hamilton will play Frances Ellen Watkins Harper, the famed Black suffragist who inspires Peggy (Denée Benton) to become involved in her cause, in spite of the dissenting opinions of those around her.

Other new cast members include Andrea Martin (Evil) as Madame Dashkova, a medium who claims to be able to commune with the dead; Paul Alexander Nolan as Alfred Merrick, a dashing, wealthy New York businessman; Hattie Morgan (Operation Mincemeat) as Lady Sarah Vere, sister to the Duke of Buckingham (Ben Lamb); and Jessica Frances Dukes (Ozark) as Athena Trumbo, Dorothy (Audra McDonald)’s beloved first cousin and a part of an elite enclave of Black residents of Newport.

Here’s the logline for season 3: the American Gilded Age was a period of immense economic and social change, when huge fortunes were made and lost overnight. With the old guard officially deposed, New York society finds itself turned upside down, and all must get their house in order. But even those at the helm of this new era may find that change comes at a cost.

Camp is represented by Innovative Artists and Franklin, Weinrib, Rudell and Vassallo. Wever is represented by Innovative Artists and Viking Entertainment. Uggams is represented by BRS/Gage Talent Agency. Hamilton is represented by Greenlight Management and Innovative Artists. Nolan is represented by Schachter Entertainment and Gersh. Morahan is represented by Authentic Talent and Literary Management and United Agents. Martin is represented by Innovative Artists. Dukes is represented by Schachter Entertainment, Innovative Artists, and Schreck Rose Dapello Adams Berlin, & Dunham.

The Gilded Age is a co-production between HBO and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
