RHONJ alum Joe Giudice is coming to Louie Ruelas’s defense amid backlash over Louie’s recent comments about his stepdaughters.
Louie Ruelas recently appeared on his wife Teresa Giudice‘s Turning the Tables podcast, where the RHONJ couple discussed their blended family.
The RHONJ star and her ex-husband, Joe Giudice, share daughters Gia Giudice, 23, Gabriella Giudice, 19, Milania Giudice, 18, and Audriana Giudice, 14. Louie is the father of Nicholas Ruelas, 23, and Louie Ruelas Jr., 20.
During the conversation, Louie emphasized the importance of living one’s youth to the fullest.
He then recounted what Teresa told her daughters, “Try it all! You know, nothing bad, or anything like that. But I’m saying, like, go to the club and dance, wear a thong, wear a short skirt, show your legs off a little bit.”
Because the Giudice girls are “the most proper girls [he’s] ever met,” the New Jersey businessman wants them to “take a risk.”
While Teresa fully supported Louie’s take, RHONJ fans found his comments a little off. Some called Louie “sick,” while others said his comments were “creepy.”
Initially, Joe Giudice seemed to agree with the opinions of RHONJ fans, calling Louie “weird” in one comment on Instagram.
“He comes off pretty weird. Just didn’t come across well. He’s actually not a bad person. I met him a few times,” Joe Giudice responded to a fan who wrote, “Joe, you need to comment creeps remarks about your daughters.”
However, Joe later clarified his comment with a statement on his Instagram Story. In fact, Teresa’s ex-husband came to Louie’s defense and even praised him as a great stepfather to his daughters.
Joe Giudice wrote:
“I don’t know why everyone has to take everything out of context. I know there are a lot of stories out there saying I commented badly on Louie. I’ve spent time with Louie, and I want to say I would never say anything wrong about him. Louie is a great guy and very good to my daughters. My daughters are very fortunate to have him in their lives. I’m grateful for that. That’s all I have to say. Enough with this BS.”
Real Housewives of New Jersey isn’t expected to return for season 15 until late 2025 or early 2026.
