Joe Giudice took to his Instagram Story hours ago to clarify the comment he released earlier this week regarding Luis Ruelas‘ statement about his daughters wearing thongs and short skirts.
After the 52-year-old Real Housewives of New Jersey alum admitted on Instagram on Monday that Luis, 50, “comes off pretty weird,” he returned to social media to set the record straight about Teresa Giudice‘s husband, praising him as a “great guy” and noting that his four daughters, Gia Giudice, 23, Gabriella Giudice, 20, Milania Giudice, 18, and Audriana Giudice, 14, are lucky to have him.
“I don’t know why everyone has to take everything out of context. I know there are a lot of stories out there saying I commented badly on Louie. I’ve spent time with Louie, and I want to say I would never say anything wrong about him,” Joe stated. “Louie is a great guy and very good to my daughters. My daughters are very fortunate to have him in their lives. I’m grateful for that. That’s all I have to say. Enough with this BS.”
At the end of last week, as he appeared on wife Teresa’s podcast, Luis suggested that he had encouraged Teresa and Joe’s daughters to wear thongs and short skirts, which prompted social media users to label him as “sick” and “inappropriate.”
“Try it all! You know, nothing bad, or anything like that. But I’m saying, like, go to the club and dance, wear a thong, wear a short skirt, show your legs off a little bit,” Luis said, as heard in a snippet shared by Instagram’s @HWHistorian2. “It’s like, experience it now. Take a risk.”
“We went to Greece last year. You know what you told your daughters? ‘Wear a thong. Do it now! Do it now ’cause I didn’t do it when I was young. Do it now. Experience it now,’” Luis continued. “And then when they came out in thongs, you’re like, ‘You guys look f*cking amazing!’”
Days after the episode aired, a fan confronted Joe on Instagram, writing, “Joe you need to comment on that [creep’s] remark about not his, but your daughters.”
Then, in response, as seen in a screenshot posted by Bye Wig Hello Drama on X, formerly known as Twitter, Joe replied, “He comes off pretty weird just didn’t come across well he’s actually not a bad person I met him a few times.”
The portion of the podcast episode in which Luis discussed the girls appears to have been edited out amid backlash.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey is currently on hiatus ahead of its 15th season.
