Teresa Giudice‘s oldest daughter, Gia Giudice, opens up about the backlash and hate she receives for appearing on RHONJ and sharing her opinion.
Gia Giudice has been a staple on the New Jersey Housewives franchise since the show’s inception in 2009. Since then, Bravo fans have watched her grow up on the show and get more involved in the antics between the cast, especially when it comes to the family drama involving her aunt and uncle, Melissa and Joe Gorga.
Over the last few seasons, Gia has filmed confessionals and given her opinions on the drama in the group, but not everyone in the Real Housewives of New Jersey cast appreciates the 23-year-old getting involved.
Now, the 23-year-old is opening up about appearing on RHONJ in a larger role than years prior while insisting that she tries to stay away from the show and drama as much as possible.
On Jason Tartick’s Trading Secrets podcast, Gia claims she doesn’t try to get involved in the drama on the Real Housewives of New Jersey, especially when it comes to her mom, Teresa Giudice.
“Trust me, I want to be far away from all of this crazy,” she confessed. “But, it’s also weird that you guys are bringing me up constantly and bringing me into conversations when I’m not your child, so why are you talking about me?”
She continued, “It’s a hard balance because people are talking about you, but people also view you as Teresa’s child. Even though I am an adult now.”
During season 14, Melissa Gorga vocalized her disdain for Gia getting involved in the drama and shared her opinion since she’s just a “child.”
“She’s a child; why are you talking to a child about adult conversations?” Melissa said. “It’s so f-cking weird that a child is even – that’s so f-cking weird.”
More recently, Teresa Giudice called out her RHONJ co-stars for being jealous of Gia’s involvement in the show.
“Some people get jealous on the show that she’s around, some of my cast members, and it’s like, who cares?” Teresa said on the July 31 episode of Kelly Ripa’s Let’s Talk Off Camera podcast, “She’s not a kid; she’s 23. She’s an adult!”
Real Housewives of New Jersey isn’t expected to return for season 15 until late 2025 or early 2026.
